In the first quarter of 2025, the virtual pet app category on iOS in Italy saw notable trends across the top five applications. The following insights are based on data from Sensor Tower.

Applaydu Play & Discover recorded an interesting pattern in weekly downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 2.7K and peaking at around 5.8K in early January. This was followed by a gradual decline and a resurgence towards the end of March, closing at about 2.8K. Active users initially increased from 22.9K to a peak of 28.6K by early February, before experiencing a decline to around 14.4K by the end of the quarter.

Pengu – Raise Virtual AI Pets showed fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $111 in mid-March. Weekly downloads experienced a significant rise from 234 to over 2K in early February, maintaining similar numbers through March. My Talking Angela 2 demonstrated a stable download pattern, beginning at 1.3K and maintaining around 944 by the end. Revenue peaked significantly at $251 in mid-March, showing a strong interest in monetization. Active users decreased steadily from 12.9K in late December to approximately 7.9K by the end of March.
